Canadian firms remained optimistic in the first quarter according to a survey from the federal statistics office Friday, even as Donald Trump threatened a trade war and economic domination.
"While pressures of both cost- and labour-related obstacles continue to ease in the first quarter, the proportion of businesses with a positive outlook remains over 70%," StatsCan's report said. The Canadian Survey on Business Conditions was taken from January to early February 2025.
"The proportion of businesses reporting an optimistic future outlook has consistently remained above 70% since the second quarter of 2024," StatsCan said.
