The European Union of Energy Regulators ACER has made two decisions that amend the EU electricity balancing rules, ACER said.

• The changes involve implementing the framework for the Picasso platform and the balancing pricing methodology on all EU balancing platforms- changing the way the cross-border marginal price is computed and limits.
  
  
• European TSO have one month after the adoption of Acers decision to implement the changes.
• Currently, Picasso is used by the TSOs of Germany, Austria and Czech Republic. The end of the legal derogations for European TSOs to connect is July, Acer said.
