POWER: Austria Plans to Support “Made in Europe” Solar, Battery Projects

Austria is planning to support solar PV projects with battery systems with up to 20% of the costs provided they use European components, the ministry for economy, energy and tourism said on Tuesday. 

• The “Made in Europe” bonus will be applied from the second tender on 23 June this year.
• The government launched the first tender on 23 April.
• The government plans to invest €60mn in solar PV projects with batteries, €5mn in small hydropower projects, €1mn in small onshore wind projects and €4mn in biomass plants.
• The government further plans to publish the revised renewable law in the fourth quarter of 2025.
