HUNGARY: Hungary Reassessing Future Participation in ICC

- Hungary is reassessing its future participation in the International Criminal Court, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after a phone call with his Israeli counterpart over the weekend, as per MTI. "My Israeli counterpart, Gideon Sa'ar, and I reviewed the possibilities and plans for the settlement of the conflict in the Middle East," Szijjarto said on Facebook.
- He added that "We were in agreement that the activities of the International Criminal Court have become seriously politicised, and that the ICC has discredited the international judicial system, so I informed him that Hungary, too, is reassessing its future participation in the organization."
- Elsewhere, the government will publish budget balance data for January at 10:00GMT/11:00CET (Prior: -HUF4.1trln). Looking ahead, CPI data for January due tomorrow morning provides the highlight of the week, where annual price growth is expected to accelerate further to +4.8% Y/Y from +4.6% in December.
