POLAND: January Economic Activity Data On Tap

Feb-20 08:03
  • The zloty sold off Wednesday with EUR/PLN rallying by 0.7% after testing the water below the psychologically significant 4.15 figure. Finance Minister Domanski and major dairy producer Mlekovita CEO Dariusz Sapinski said earlier this week that the strong exchange rate is taking its toll on Polish exporters.
  • InPost CEO Rafal Brzoska told Money.pl that his team will finish works on deregulation proposals by June 1 and submit them to the government. He said that until that time, he would not comment on his and Wirtualna Polska's reported joint bid to buy the TVN media group.
  • Poland's economic activity indicators for January will cross the wires at 09:00GMT/10:00CET:
    • Average Gross Wages (BBG est. +9.2% Y/Y)
    • Employment (BBG est. -0.6% Y/Y)
    • Sold Industrial Output (BBG est. -1.5% Y/Y)
    • PPI (BBG est. -0.4% Y/Y)
    • Construction Output (BBG est. -0.3% Y/Y)
