Feb-21 13:40
Relations between Argentina and the US administration appear strong as Elon Musk took to the stage at a conservative conference outside Washington on Thursday with a gift from Argentina's libertarian President Javier Milei: a chainsaw. "This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy," said Musk, holding the power tool aloft
President Milei is expected to speak on the Argentine economic model at an Inter-American Development Bank event Friday, and in the afternoon, he will meet with World Bank head Ajay Banga. Milei will remain in Washington until Saturday to deliver a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, which US President Donald Trump will also attend.
The Senate approved and passed the suspension of a primary election for this year’s midterm vote known as PASO during Thursday’s session.
Argentina economic activity data is due next Tuesday.
