China's Caixin manufacturing PMI came in at 51.2 in March, up from February's 50.8, staying in the expansionary zone above the 50 mark for the sixth straight month and hitting the highest level since December 2024, the financial publisher said on Tuesday.

The production sub-index rose slightly within the expansion range to the highest level in nearly four months, while the new order sub-index declined slightly but remained above the breakeven 50. The new export order sub-index rose in the expansion range to the highest level since May 2024, due to recovered global market demand and the expansion of the customer base.

Caixin's PMI mainly tracks SME manufacturers. The official PMI released Monday, which typically covers large state-owned companies, registered 50.5 in March, up from February's 50.2 reading.
