MNI BRIEF: CBRT Opens 500 Million Lira Bond Tender

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in conjunction with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance on Friday opened a direct purchase tender for TLREF indexed bonds, in a move intended to smooth market functioning after the Eid holiday.

"The Central Bank of Turkey will directly purchase bonds today with three separate tenders, each auction worth 500 million lira. It is anticipated that the tenders will continue in the coming period," a CBRT spokesman said, with a total purchase of 3.7 billion liras at the time of writing.
