MNI BRIEF: Mid-Term Euro Inflation May Be Below Target -Rehn

Medium-term euro area inflation may be below target , with trade tensions dampening inflation in the short term and the likely scenario that more Chinese goods will be arriving to European markets, Bank of Finland Governor Olli Rehn said on Thursday.

 "The probability of [Chinese] redirecting exports to European markets is quite high", he said, adding to the equation a stronger euro and the potential creation of a European safe asset making the continent more interesting and attractive for investors.
