OIL: Operations at Iraq's Rumaila Oilfield Not Affected After Unit Fire

A fire erupted at a crude processing unit in Iraq's Rumaila oilfield on Jan. 24, according to Reuters sources.
- Fire crews are trying to bring it under control and operations at the field have not been affected.
- It is estimated that 17 billion barrels of recoverable oil are still contained within Rumaila’s reservoirs.
- The field is located 50km to the west of the city of Basra. The Basra region is home to all six of Iraq’s ports.
