Germany’s Uniper is in talks for the supply of 1 mtpa of LNG from Woodside Energy’s proposed Louisiana facility and 1 mtpa from the producer’s existing global portfolio, according to Bloomberg.
- “Discussions between the parties are ongoing and incomplete and no final agreement has been reached on the terms,” a Woodside statement said.
- The purchases would be equivalent to about 3% of Germany’s annual gas requirements.
- Woodside’s Louisiana LNG project received additional investment from Stonepeak to move the project closer to FID and additional investments are being sought, according to an April 7 press release. Woodside’s guidance is for the facility to be operational by 2029.
