AMERICAS OIL: Venezuela to Resume Receiving Deportation Flights from the US

Mar-13 13:52

The US will resume deportation flights to Venezuela that had been halted after President Trump’s decision to revoke Chevron’s license to operate in the country, an American official said, cited by Bloomberg.

  • Repatriation of its citizens from the US is a key requirement for the Trump administration, who appear to have moved away from Trump’s goal of regime change there during his first term.
  • This could be a positive sign for the eventual return of Chevron’s license, or at least to prevent further tightening of restrictions against the production and trade of Caracas’ oil.
