Online polling firm Atlas Intelligence has released a report today, with a poll based on internet collected data, showing the margin between incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro and challenger Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva closer than pollsters using traditional polling methods.
- The Atlas poll shows Lula with a 8.4% lead in the first round of the presidential election.
- Yesterday, a Paraná Pesquisa showed Lula with 41.7% of voting intentions and Bolsonaro with 37%, the tightest margin Paraná Pesquisa has recorded during this polling cycle.
- The fluctuating polling dynamics suggest that the election may be closer than anticipated. Lucas de Aragao of Arko Advice: "This election is still up for grabs. The polls are showing a tightening race and it could become tighter. The increased welfare payments by the government and other benefits have still to impact voter decisions; we could be heading into a very tight first round."
