Marathon Petroleum’s 66kb/d Salt Lake City refinery in Utah has begun shutting units at its South End section for a multiunit turnaround according to Bloomberg sources.
- A 67kb/d CDU was shut on Feb. 14 and 17kb/d ULSD hydrotreater was shut on Feb. 12, according to Wood Mackenzie’s Genscape.
- Maintenance to include the crude unit, a 12kb/d ultraformer, the flare gas recovery system and a 23kb/d distillate hydrotreater.
- The works are expected to last about six weeks in addition to the time taken to shut units and to resume normal operations.
