A six week turnaround at Shell’s 327kbpd Rheinland Godorf refinery near Cologne is planned to start from next week. The facility is Germany’s biggest oil refinery.
- The work on two large plant complexes at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rhineland, including replacement of the head of a distillation column, is scheduled to last until mid-October.
- Around 1,550 pieces of equipment such as columns, pressure vessels, valves and heat exchangers will be checked.
- Flaring is possible from Aug. 26 through Sept. 8 as units are taken offline.
- The Wesseling site is not affected, so security of supply is guaranteed.
