Valero Energy has started maintenance at the western plant of its 293kbpd Corpus Christi oil refinery in Texas, which is likely to last for three days, the firm said.

• Maintenance will include tune-up work on equipment related to a sulfur recovery unit. The maintenance will be focused on a heavy oil cracker unit's scrubber, which is a cleaning installation that neutralizes harmful components in industrial air.
